Here at Langdons, we have an amazing opportunity for a HGV Trailer Technician to join the team based in Bridgwater. You will be working on a full time, permanent basis, working Monday – Friday 06:00 – 14:00 (week 1) and 14:00 – 22:00 (week 2) – rotating shift and in return, you will receive a highly competitive salary of £36,000-£38,000 depending on experience per annum plus excellent company benefits!

The Trailer Technician role:

Ensures the company 400+ trailer fleet is effectively serviced and repaired on a cost-effective and timely basis within company and regulatory requirements.

What you’ll be doing as our Trailer Technician:

  • Ensuring trailers are repaired and maintained in accordance with prescribed standards
  • Preparing and presenting trailers for MOT inspections
  • Diagnosing trailer-related defects using available diagnostic equipment and arrange for relevant action to be taken
  • Liaising with trailer manufacturers regarding acquiring of parts and replacement vehicles, keeping key colleagues informed of progress where necessary
  • Ensuring high levels of safety and cleanliness at all times and that required house-keeping duties meet required standards
  • Updating and maintaining appropriate digital records and ensuring all relevant information is shared with relevant departments on a timely basis

What qualifications and experience are we looking for in our Trailer Technician?

  • Class 1 licence preferred, but not essential
  • Mechanical background is necessary, knowledge and experience is essential
  • Ideally Qualified to Level 2 or IRTEC trained
  • Experienced in using transport repair tools and associated software
  • Experienced in following established procedures and problem-solving and/or making sound judgements where not all information is available
